The invitations: invite your guests to a "bridal high tea" or a "tea party" in honour of your bride. One cute idea is to address your envelopes with a Downton Abbey feel, for example "Lady Kathryn of Silverberry" or "Lady Kira of Terra Losa". We highly recommend Shara from I Do Invitations if you need some inspiration.
The decor: this is where Details Vintage Decor Rentals comes in. Imagine hanging lanterns, cafe lighting and mismatched chairs on the lawn. Your tables will be donned with lots of lace, old books and glass vases filled with flowers. We can also provide you with the most important pieces - over 30 matching cup and saucer sets. Drink from them, hang them from trees or create centrepieces. The possibilities are endless.
Stand available in white only |
The food: Small, tiny, petite. A standard afternoon tea (as per the BBC) comprises of layer sandwiches, layer cakes, pastries and petit fours. We absolutely love the idea of macarons (try to Mirabelle Macarons in Edmonton) to match the bride's colours. Details Vintage Decor Rentals has a large selection of china plates in addition to several cake and cupcake stands.
The attire:Invite your family and friends to dress the part. Nothing says tea time like big hats, parasols and floral dresses.
We would love to help you plan your tea party bridal shower. Please don't hesitate to drop us a line.
